My Story

Hello! I'm Tadd Meyer, and these are some of the images I have taken over my photographic career.  I'm from Wabash, Indiana and I attended Indiana University in Bloomington.  I received a bachelor's of arts major in anthropology, with a certificate in journalism, and minors in Slavic Studies and Russian.  On this site you can find an array of photos I've captured, mainly from my travels around the United States, as well as abroad in Mexico and Africa.  I became a photographer in 2017, and hope to improve my skills so photography can remain an integral part of my life.

I rarely left my home state of Indiana growing up.  I never really set foot out of my hometown of Wabash either.  I thought the world was so small and simple.  My time spent at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, changed that.  I bought my first DSLR camera from my friend Bryce, and I took a class taking pictures around town.  Then I went outside of Bloomington, capturing the forests of Brown County and the small cities that pepper the state of Indiana.  This kept going until my first abroad experience in Oaxaca, Mexico, which inspired me to take another one to Tanzania the next year.

.  As I continued photographing I kept learning more about the world, seeing how complex and immense it really is.  I saw the world outside of the United States, from the mountain of Kilimanjaro to the valleys of Oaxaca City, I learned how my small town roots affected my world view.  From then on I wanted to dedicate myself to documenting the world as it is, to show the awe-inspiring environments of the Earth, and to show the people who live in it.  While we may try to separate ourselves from nature, people are just as much a part of nature as the wildlife that inhabits it.

While cities may not be akin to a national park, it still is a setting filled with different environments.  Whether it is a bustling city park, or the center of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, I want to capture the relationship people have with the environment around them.
